Point domain name to a server in Cloudflare (A record)

Go to Cloudflare, click DNS tab.

There are 2 records we care most about:

  • A record for your domain – usually “domain.com” and pointing to a server IP (like “123.123.123.123”). Of course, you should have it pointing to our server IP.
  • A record for CNAME for “www” – this should be either an A record pointing to our server IP or a CNAME record pointing to your “domain.com”.

What about the other records? It depends on your use scenario. Some of them should be pointed to our server (if they are being served from our server). Others should be pointing to 3rd-party servers.
