Giving SSH access

METHOD 1 (most secure) – import SSH key

WHM/cPanel – go to WHM > Manage root’s SSH Keys > Import Key, choose name for key and copy the provided SSH key into the box for “Public Key”, then click [Import]. Then go to Manage Authorization, and authorize it.

METHOD 2 (less secure but fine if you trust the person) – use SSH root user/pass

WHM/cPanel – go to WHM > SSH Password Authorization Tweak, and enable Password Auth.

Most likely, your server is using a non-default port! Instead of 22, try 2223 or 2200!
